If you love blues-infused rock music that is packed with intensity and passionate vocal performances, then you’re going to love Jed Potts & The Hillman Hunters and their new album, ‘Swashbucklin’’. The album, coming on November 5th, is a piece of music that requires the utmost attention, with its super cool style that pulls you in with a laid back rock vibe, and keeps you listening with its high quality riffs, drums and vocals that all come together perfectly. Trust me when I say, ‘Swashbucklin’’ is one you don’t want to miss.
Starting off with the excellent title track, ‘Swashbucklin’’, the track gives us great riffs instantly followed by lyrics and vocals that give us the perfect example of what to expect –songwriting that leaves you hanging on every word, with a vocal performance that delivers each line just as it should. A strong opener from what promises to be a strong album, and it doesn’t stop there – straight away jumping into the second track, ‘It Won’t Be Long’, the impressive riffs continue and they carry on to lay the foundations for a vocal performance that is delivered with ease, which is finished off by an intensity in vocals, lyrics and guitar, showcasing the energy that they bring to their music.
Starting very strong byshowing us the best parts of their music in the first two tracks with music of a high calibre and pacing that works, there is no way the rest of the album could disappoint. Tracks such as ‘Splash Down!’, ‘Where’s Your Man?’ and the lead single, ‘Won’t Be No Use’ all deliver on what we loved about the album in the opening – immense guitar riffs, fantastic vocals and lyrics with drums and pacing that is out of this world, suiting everything on the ‘Swashbucklin’’ perfectly, showing us that their good music is no fluke, but a tried and tested creative process that they have mastery over and it really shows.
Overall, the ‘Swashbucklin’’ is an album that deserves a place in your playlist – energetic performance after energetic performance, they prove that they’re a band not to be taken lightly. A strong lead single in ‘Won’t Be No Use’ with the rest of the tracks more than capable of standing alongside it, it’s an album that we cannot recommend enough. With a release date of November 5th, it won’t be long until you get to indulge in the music of Jed Potts & The Hillman Hunters. Don’t miss it!
