You can’t go (very) wrong documenting true life events (actually, scratch that, we can think of plenty) but the hijacking of a plane by Palestinian and German terrorists in 1976 had enough drama for, quite evidently, not just one film but four.
Though Victory at Entebbe (1976) and Raid on Entebbe (1977), and the Israeli film Operation Thunderbolt (1977) had varying degrees of exposure, the latest entry promises to be the most detailed and at a time when public consciousness could scarcely be more attuned to the subject matter. Starring Rosamund Pike and Daniel Brühl, the choice of director, José Padilha, also top dog of the decidedly so-so remake of Robocop in 2014, might be the weak link. ON general release on April 6th, 2018.
